My alternator belt has had it, you can smell the burning rubber where its slipping from inside the car not to mention the noise! Thing is i cant get the damn powersteering belt off so i can get to the alternator belt. There are 2 bolts right? on the pully one big octagonal one and a smaller 12 sided 13 mm one on top of the larger one. Ok now I try to undo the smaller one but i cant budge it no matter how hard i try do i need to undo the larger one first? Dont have the right spanner so im asking here first? Also if not is there any tricks to gettin the smaller bolt undone they would be appreciated?
as above, ford have to make it confusing dont they!
from memory its a 22mm spanner that you will need, the 13mm is for adjustment, its the opposite way around on the alt
Its all good now. Yeah the reason I thought it was the little one first was because not long ago i had to adjust the alternator belt and it was like that. Its almost as bad as the oil pressure switches that ford built
