Can any of you guys help me, after removing the preimum sound deck from the centre console without removing the cds ( I know Im a dickhead), after replacing it it seems to have looked, there are 6 cds in there but it tells me there are none, Ford tell me it will have to be replaced withthem refitting a new one sometime in the future and I might get my CDs back sometime this millenium.
Anyone had this problem?
Anyone know how to fix it?
i think i fluked it. all i did was remove the unit again, and found i could just see one of the cd's looking a bit cockeyed inside. i managed to jiggle it back into place and then carefully refitted the unit. after that it worked fine.
i know it's a bit of a long shot, but i reckon it's worth a try just for the cd's, let alone having some dodgy apprentice pulling out your dash.
Take the unit out again, remove two small screws that hold metal lid on. inside you will be able to see the cds. They will have a spring loaded holder holding them in place, just pull this up and you will be able to get cds out.
just a word of warning, i would still get the unit replaced. There have been nothing but probs with these units. Im on my 4th in my AU 2!!!
They dont get replaced by Ford, they get sent away to the company that supplies these pieces of crap and then they replace it with a recon unit!!!!!!
Thanks chaps,
Took your advice removed the stereo, and took the lid off, found two plastic disc holders broken, so until ford replace it I have a 4 in dash CD player. Works OK as well.
