The drivers seat im my car is loose, I had a look underneath and all the bolts are tight but it looks as if some of the brackets are worn. They have squashed pins through them and it looks like the hole has worn a bit and there is enough play in there for the lower section of the seat to move when i go over speed humps etc. its only the front right corner that moves, if i yank it up n down it has play in it!

Does anyone know if these parts can be bought seperate or does the seat come as one peice only?? I dont think it would be hard to make one because it can be taken off

There is a common problem with the seat and you may have described the symptom. You need to pull the seat out to make sure - you will need the torx bit (50) to remove the four bolts.

The metal plate (that supports your backside) will more than likely have several cracks around the welded nuts that secure the plate to the seat frame. One of those welds (or bolts) will have come loose allowing all the movement.

Relacement metal base plate is about $50.00 and your local ford stockist will have heaps of them as replacements for taxis....
