Quick Air/Con Q ???

Hey guys,
Just trying to get the A/C on my ED going as the prev owner ( my Dad ) cut the belt because of bearing noise....
Anyway new belts on, no bearing noise yet....
Problem is no cold air, and I am pretty sure that all of the refrig has seeped out over time..
BUT when I push the A/C button in the car I dont hear the normal CLICK coming from the engine bay..
Can anyone enlighten me as to any reasons why I wouldnt hear that noise, does it depend on if there is refrig in it , is it not working??
Thanks again guys in advance
FLudey

Needs a service, air-con needs using once a week to keep seals in order. Get a quote, could be big $$$

You won't hear the click because the A/C has a low pressure switch which stops the A/C clutch engaging.

If you're not driving a manual you're really just steering.

Thanks guys,
Went and got it re-gassed today , that fixed the problem, now I notice another...
When I have the fan on my face and I push down the throttle the fan goes onto the windscreen, also if I turn the ignition off it will do the same..
I believe this may be a vacuum line come off but have no idea which one it might be or how to test which one it is...
Any ideas how I can find out??
Thanks again.
