Me and my mate on the weekend did a few exhaust modifications on the old EA. We dropped the existing straight through 2.5in single muffler exhaust, cut the old sports muffler off and welded in a near new staight through muffler off a skyline (basically you can look straight through it, no restrictions). It has improved throttle response and performance. It is also produces a really sweet sharp note with no droneing even when going up hills. Those japs no how to make performance mufflers.

Oh yeah i got the muffler free of a mate, i think their worth about $160-$180. There is some jap writing on the muffler so i don't know the brand name.

Sorry no pics, don't have a digital camera. It's basically the same size as the old one but it was lighter and made less noise. go figure??? I'm pretty sure it must be glass packed with fibreglass etc. but man it sounds good. Go to a jap import wrecker, they should have some spare 2nd hand mufflers for cheap dollars.

Pardon the off topic, but they claim the cylinder head is stock and it pulls 1000 hp.

Nice idea for the muffler JJJ. A friend with a VS replaced an aftermarket muffler with a HSV one and gained a slight performance improvement and reduced noise.
