Thinking of removing the rear muffler does neone know if its illegal or any better sound with it off was going to get a metal sleeve welded over

mine on the NC was rusted out wen i got the car so i had it removed and some 2.5 inch pipe welded in its place (V8's had 2.5 system standard)

the note is more pronounced a little louder im unsure if its ilegal but it passed a rwc like it so.....

Dont think its illegal as long as it passes noise restriction.
When my EA rusted out it sounded a bit better and louder

my eb rear muffler rusted out i also put a 2.5 inch in it's place

I think taking the rear resonator/muffler out completely would make it too boomey and droany in the car especially at highway speeds.

I have tried to replace the rear muffler with a smaller hotdog type resonator and found that too droany and annoying.

It'll sound real bad and will drone big time.

Do it properly. Get a performance/sports system fitted. It'll sound better and give you a bit more grunt! :)

are we talking rear as in the tailpipe rear or intermediate rear . if tail pipe you can buy a new tailpipe with nothing in the way of resys or muffs Berklee part no BT3171 or Bt3170 depending if a wagon or not
