Rear windscreen water leak in xe

There is water leaking into the car and dripping down onto the upright part of the back seat in my xe sedan. I'm guessing its just the rear windscreen needs re sealing. Maybe subs have made it pop out a bit or something.

Any one else had this happen?

How much am i up for to get it re sealed?

Do it yourself. Get some Dow Corning 734 flowable silicone sealant. It seeps down deep.

Loctite also have it in small tubes, probably enough for what you want.

cheers

I think i'd rather get it done by a pro. Any one know how much it would cost?

You're not he only 1 with a leaking XE rear window.
Ive got an XE Ghia that did the same thing, all along the top of the rear window was leaking. Got some black windscreen sealant
and stuck the nozzle under the black window rubber, squeezed it in, wiped off the excess and havent had a drop of water make it inside since.

Yeah, its a lot cheaper than paying somebody to do the same thing.

Best to fix it sooner rather than later.

Otherwise the Xd's to XF are prone to rust that bubbles out from under the seal on the top of the rear windows.

Cheers

You can use flowable silicone (expensive) or that black "windscreen sealant."

Auto pro or similar have small 40g tubes of the stuff.

XF 5 Speed said it all

If you lift the rubber at the top of the window, that's where it goes.
Cut the nozzle to a bit smaller than the size of the gap.
