Rebuilt Carb - Gas leak....
Got a bit of a problem here. I just rebuilt my carb (2bbl motorcraft 2150) for my '77 F150. New Gaskets and stuff. Anyway, after putting it together I cranked it up, and everything seemed normal. After giving it some gas, though, gas comes out of the two ports on top of the bowl cover. I know that I've put everything back together correctly. I even took it back apart to see if I missed something. My float is set to the correct hight as well. If you look down into the ports, you can see the gasket. Is there something that is supposed to go into these ports? Do I need to use some gasket sealer with the regular gasket also? I'm a bit confused as to what to do. This is the first time that I've rebuilt a carb. The breakdown sheet that came with the rebuild kit isn't very forth coming when it comes to these ports. They are just little towers on top of the carb that the breather sits on, or covers. If anyone has any idea what this is, or what I'm doing wrong I appreciate it. I need to get this fixed ASAP so I can get to work tomarrow LOL.
