I got this part number from the tickford owners club forums for the reinforcement plate of the pedal box/ firewall.
Part # XC7K518A and is available from any ford spares.

Just wondering does it have to be welded on? If so is there a way to fit this part on and or fix the pedal box without pulling apart the whole dash.

If im not mistaken this is the re-enforcement plate for the area where the clutch cable goes through the firewall.
I had to install one of these on an EA when I was a Mechanic, and its welded on the front of the firewall(engine side), all that has to be done is to remove the insulation around the area and pull back the carpet under the pedals. Make sure you have wet towels around the pedals to prevent against any welding sparks igniting the carpet.

Ahh i c, we had that on our EB Wagon.

So if my pedal box mounting hasn't effed up, will this part prevent it from happening. Or does this part just prevents the cable mount from going through the firewall.

IF this plate solves the problem i'm goin to fit it.

Unfortunately they're two separate problems and reinforcing the firewall won't stop the pedal box going. See the thread in The Pub on EA S Jinxed Pedal Box for more on this.

I hadn't pulled out the dash before. It's time consuming but not hard.
