Removing back rest to car seat - Lumbar support

I have a 2009 Ford Taurus X. The lumbar support in the driver's seat is so pronounced that its killing my back. Even when its all the way disengaged its still way too far out. I'm looking if someone has knowledge on how to remove the rear backrest on the drivers seat and if anyone knows how to remove or perhaps even access the lumbar support mechanism and bend it backwards so it doesn't kill my back any longer. If I can't fix it, I'm going to have to sell the vehicle.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Derek

Re: Removing back rest to car seat - Lumbar support

i dont think it is detachable. its better to fix some thing like extra soft rest on your back rest. that will help you relax while driving
