I went to have a crack at fixing my water pump today and I couldn't get the bloody belt off!
I've only had the car a week so I haven't had a chance to get a manual for it yet. There's a socket thingy on the tensioner pulley system which a ratchet fits straight into. It's rock solid though and I've forced it about as hard as I'd like to without something breaking. There's a tag looking thing it the top of the tensioner assembly. Does that need to be pushed in or pulled out or something ?? I had a fiddle with everything I could find but to no avail.

There is a 3/8" square drive hole, just turn clockwise. (Your'e moving the body itself)

Yeah I tried that but it didn't budge more than about 1mm and all it did was rock the engine ?? Is it possible that it's frozen or something ?

are you sure you turned it the right way mate, I doubt if it is seized as i havent ever heard of em doing that.....

Possibly, just give it a light tap or two; or swear profusely at it, that usually helps.

I have no problems getting the serpentine belt off without using tools. Get it all on the pulleys and in place, except for the PS Pump, and the top (fixed idler). Pull hte belt up on the dvr side of the PS Pump (around the alternator) with one hand and work it over the PS pully with the other. Then just slip it on the top idler. To take it off do the same stuff in reverse order.
