I'm replacing the speedo cable on my Capri as the old one is stuffed from years of rubbing against the exhaust.

However, the circlip that locates the speedo cable into the gearbox is just about impossible to get to with circlip pliers! I'm at the end of my tether, I also have a sore neck, back and arms off spending so long on my back trying to get the damn thing off!

Help anyone? Attached is a pic of the offending circlip & cable.

Well if you are replacing the cable anyway, why not just cut the clip off, and it wont matter if you are hurt the cable as you will be putting a new one in anyway, get a new circlip to put on.

Go buy a set of circlip pliers with the extended arms or better still the 90 degree ones
