ok i need these things done/fixed could anyone tell me how much the estimate for them to be done???? thanks

Front Pads
Front discs machined
Auto Service
coolant Flush
Air con belt
A/C fedler pully
L&R lower ball joints
L&R rack boots.

should be pretty easy to do some of the stuff your self.

You should quite easily be able to do the front pads, coolant flush, and air con belt yourself. You'd be suprised how easy some of the stuff is, plus its a great way to get to know your car.

But with the pads, make sure you get quality pads - ie bendix or similar. They make a huge difference.

The pads might be around the $60 mark, coolant prolly $10-15 and the belt $5??

These are just guesses, but should be in the right ball park.

kool thanks yeah i know i can do afew things myself, just checking out prices so i know how much $$$ i need, ohh yeah this thread was meant to be in the techincal part but i accidently pu it here..
anyone else know any prices, i'm prolly gonna go down to the mechanic sometime soon and ask its just a matter of having the spare time to go down there and knowing how much i'm expecting to pay

What's a sign that the discs needed to be machined? Pulling under hard/medium braking?

I have noticed something like this in the EA and I am thinking the discs need to be machined.

usually if the discs need machining you will feel the brake pedal pulsating in and out under your foot when braking.
usually if its pulling to the side ts because one pad is more worn than the other or a caliper isnt working properly or sticking .

front pads Ferodo Ultimates: $40
Front discs machined you remove & replace : $20 ea
" " " they " " : $50 ea
Autro service (depends where) ring & find out maybe $100
Coolant flush you do it :$40 (incl GOOD quality inhibitor)
" " they " :$80 ( " quality inhibitor)
Serpentine belt ; $100 +
A/C idler pulley, your guess is as good as mine maybe $100
Ball joints you do them :$40 ea
" " they " " : $80+ ea (they are pressed in)
Boots you do them $50
" they " " $150 (it's an awkward job)

These are accurate guesstimates

A/C belts go for about $15-$20 ( I paid $18 from Supercrap )
A/C sliding tension pulley about $20-$40 from the wreckers
Lower Balljoints - best to remove the stub axles yourself and take the parts into a workshop, wont take them long to press them in...maybe $20-40 each side (?) Trans service ranged from $85-$120...usually on the cheaper side if 3 speed Auto
