Hi All,

Just to give me an idea,

My car's (90 EA 3.9 MPFI) lifters are starting to make noise. It started to happen only when the engine just starts up. But every once in a while now it will appear when driving.

What I woulld like to find out is,
How hard are they to replace?
Cost?
Time that it will take to do myself?
and also is there any way to work out which one(s) it is that is making the noise?

before you bother replacing them try the $12 fix
add a bottle of Nulon E20 "performance engine treatment" to your oil when engine is cold, take it for a 15min drive, leave it overnight and the noise should be gone in the morning...worked for me and mine were tapping very loudly for at least 15mins in the morning and ocassionally tapping whilst warm
