When I put mmy 3 spd 88 MPI into R, its normal, but as soon as i give it any gas, as i am reversing, there is like a rubbing sort of noise, and a vibration coming from the tranny...at first i thought it was the front whel rubbing on something, that is what it feels like, but its coming from the damn tranny!
Whats wrong here? I hope it ain't serious, I'm pretty skint at the moment!!!
Another thing, on my other post, the oil guage issue...i noticed under the engine, hanging underneath the car is a little pipe or hose...it looks like a breather pipe, but im not sure...should there be a pipe hanging below the car? Its too dark to see where the pipe leads, so i'll have a dig around tomorrow....
Anyone noticed that all the bad things happens to your car at once?

I realise this isn't completely relevant, but if you haven't gotten your transmission serviced any time recently, I'd recommend doing so.

The transmisison was done just before i bought the car. It was done i think in December last year.
I guess the only thing I can do is take it to a garage?
I just dont have much money spare to use at the moment...unless someone has any idea what could be causing it?
Its when i put it reverse and give it a bit gas, theres a rubbing or grinding in the tranny, i can feel it in the car...
Thanks

I have that same problem, but by no means as bad as yers.
If i put her in reverse and give it 'some' gas, its ok..but if i feel like reversing fast then i get the vibration. It sorta feels like when you try and take off in 4th in a manual car. As far as i can see its only on reverse and i dont do much reversing so im not worried about it :)

I thought I had the same problem, vibration from under the car seemed to be comming from the tranny when doing about 5 - 10 kms/h. Ended up being, when I got my new exhaust they put it too close to the rear bumper and it was vibrating on that.
