Rough takeoff in AU falcon forte - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the following.

I have a 1999 Au falcon forte and at time the take-off is bloody rough and it feels like the car is about to stall. It's only hesistant for a moment and then it's fine.

We had a problem with rough idel and after being told the obligatory "Oh that's normal" from the Ford Dealer we let it rest until 2 coil packs died completly.

The car is due to come off warranty in the new few months and I am wanting to make sure Ford fixes the problem if its something like the coil packs.

The car has only done 50000km's but I am wondering if it is possible that it could be the spark plug leads or something else like that.

Any suggestions - getting any Ford dealer to actually fix it is probably going to be too hard unless it can be reproduced whihc is dificult as it is an intermitant problem.

mate, my EF did exactly the same thing, and it was the coil pack, turns out that the heater hose was slowly dripping on it and stuffed it up. make sure theres no coolant leaks around the coil pack.
