After reading the thread on the Phase 4 falcons I was wondering if anyone has any specs on the RPO83 option. The bloke down the road has one in his shed and it looks like stock low km XA GT .
However it wont idle below about 800 RPM and obviously has a very different cam from a standard XA GT.
I believe that the engine is how it was supplied from Ford.
Any info anyone?

the cam was supposed to be a stock XA GT cam.. it was breathing mods like extractors and the holley that gave it the extra grunt

Basically
780 Holley had a manual choke - idle 800, fast idle 2800. 8000rpm tacho, extractors (same as phase 111) modyfied sump (with baffles) and in some cases - Rear discs (from the LTD)

I own a very low mileage (23,000) RPO83 coupe. The main differences according to Ford was the 780 Holley (as per Phase 3 and 4) and the H & M Headers, which were different slightly to the Phase 3. I know of about 20 others and only 1 of those supposedly has rear discs - so I'm told. The sump had additional baffles, but it wasn't a Phase 4 sump - no ears. But Ford did do some funny things, and there were a supply of parts for the Phase 4's that were never built, so they had to go somewhere, so who knows???
