Today whilst at work, someone decided to cement a new pole into the ground, right next to my car.

Of course the pole was only short (about 30 - 40 cm tall),
as I drove off, it rubbed up against the door, and scratched through the paint, and causing something inside the door to press through the metal. (smallish dint)

It also took the paint off the side protection moulding, and side skirt for about 15cm along the side of the door.

With monday being a public holiday, I have an agonising wait to get to the panel shop to find out how much I am up for...

Just out of curiosity, is someone able to give me a guesstimate as to how much a respray/minor panel beating of the door, to fix this annoying scratch would be?

I had a scratch about 40cm long & a dent about the size of a 50 cent piece starting from the edge of the rear bumper near the wheel, up over the wheel arch & stopping just on the rear door.

That ended up costing me $600 cash.

So my guess would have to be less that that but not really sure.

on my black xr, i had a scratch to the metal and dint on the left side front door only about 8cm long, and it was $250.
was not happy as i am sure you arent !!

As you can imagine, I am pretty pissed that it had to happen to the new car!

l know what that is like as l would be ( P"ed ) as well
it would rougthly about 500.00 depends on the panel shop it better if you can do the paint damage your self if possilbe

Ok if you gave me pic I could give you a better quote but from what you told me I'll work it out.

depending on where the dint is the door handle will probably have to come out, some panel shops will leave them in but will not be as good of a job.

1hr to dissasemble door @ $30 hr
1.5hr to repair door @ $30 hr
2hr to paint door @ $50 hr
1hr to paint side skirt @ $50 hr
1hr mix & match @ $50 hr
2hr booth allowance @ $50 hr

total labour $375
GST $37.50
total cost $412.50

Now this is just a rough estimate just to give you an idea but they might need to blend the front gaurd and back door and the labour for painting prices change depending on what colour it is.
