Hey guys

After i start her up from COLD i get a screeching sound that lasts afew seconds....its not the starter motor becuase that was just replaced. It started after i got all the belts replaced , but they all seem tight when i push on them....

Any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem
but that was because my belts were loose!

So I don't know if it works the other way though?

Yes those belts need to be as tight as. The adjuster wears, you may need a bar etc to lever alternator [If thats the belt] tighter.

yeah i reckon its the alternator belt - crappy little 3 rib thing..useles, has to be very tight to stick - i reckon only tighten a little bit each time though -too tight can flog out the bearings in the alternator

could also be one of your idle pulleys (A/C or pwr/str)with a worn bearing.

hope it's not the aircon clutch :) those things cost a fortune, I know from experience as mine seized but Rollin got me a good deal on one aircon unit

Actually the idle pulley bearings can quite easy be re-packed with high temp grease, just pull the seal off and way you go...
