Hey Guys,

There is a semi circled shaped tube sticking out of the air intake near the MAF on the ED (windsor) V8...whats it called?

I need to get a new one from Ford and dont know the name...couldnt see a part number on it.

Its called a balance or silencer i think ? , it was designed to keep induction noise down from what I understand.

LOL. Officially it's called a resonator. It's purely to decrease intake noise and of course that defeats the purpose of a V8 lol. If you want you can just remove it and plug the hole it fits into. Won't make a difference except you may get a bit nicer sound - dunno, I haven't bothered taking mine off yet cause I'm waiting to get a Herrod SS intake pipe instead :)

should i reorder the resonator or the plastic intake bit from a EB Series 1..that way there would be no opening for it?

It's really up to you Extreme_2020 - I don't think there'd be much difference either way whether you had the resonator or not. If you don't want it but don't wanna fork for a new pipe you could just clamp a 'bung' in the existing hole to plug it. Just depends what money you wanna spend and maybe what look you want in your engine bay etc. really.

id be really supprised if they still stock the series 1 pipe.
from what ive noticed, if there is an identical or almost identical part, they will stock the later model part.
