Hey all im bout to service my old car which is a toyota corolla...yeah yeah i know it aint a ford but i want to service the car before i sell it to get that extra bit of money for it...anyway i just need to know how to do an oil change, spark plug change and coolant flush.

i presume all cars are the same doing these kinda things, so if anyone know what they're doing would they be able to give me some detailed instructions on doing the things mentioned above.

to drain the oil remove the sump plug and let it drain in a bucket overnight. then re fit sump plug and put in the new oil. you might also want to change the oil filter too.

to change spark plugs, remove them and take a sample to repco or wherever and get new ones. check the spark plug gap is set to factory specs and then reinstal. tighten them to finger tight then use a ratchet and turn them a quarter of a full rotation tighter.

to flush coolant, remove bottom radiator hose and let it all drain out. then use a hose to run water through your radiator removing as much coolant as possible. then re fit bottom hose and add new coolant and water to correct ratio.

I believe the best money spent is a few $2 cans of degreaser. go ape on the engine bay, a clean engine is always appealing to buyers.

we dont want to stooge people into thinking they are getting a leak free engine. but true it is more appealing to buyers. car yards do it all the time.
