Okay,

here is my problem
which car would be better to buy
the ef xr6 or xr8

i know there is a wicked xr6 from jim mock motorsport

just wondering which one would be better
the naturally aispired eight or the supercharged 6

i am going to modify it, until i hit ten seconds 1/4 mile

i just need to know, which one would be worth doing
just gonna be a street car and not a drag car

money is no worries, though have to save up for the car, first

VL turbo for sure.

It depends on heaps of things mate. How much money you have, if you want to blow it or not, how drivable you want (obviously a bit).

If you want to hit sub 10 seconds don't bother buying an XR. You'll go beyond XR spec so you'll only be paying for the badges.

Oh, and for your info, the JMM XR only runs a 13.08. A lot of us saw it run just a few weeks ago. Now to go from 13sec to 10sec is a quantum leap. Considereing that full on drag cars that are custom built only run 8s.
10 second street car, your in la la land if your thinking about that as a first car.

I would agree about not getting an XR model if you're going for 10secs or less.. Get a GLi and spend the cash you save on a bigger intercooler or something

And yeah, as almost everyone else has said, 10 seconds + streetable?!? IF you could possibly achieve this, it will be with a blown 6 (or blown 8), because an NA engine producing that kinda power is gonna be soooooooooooo lumpy, or idle at redline or something

_apparently_ the BA XR6T all kitted out can pull high tens and is still streetable, this is probably just cause it doesn't really come on boost for the first ~2000rpm, so for daily driving it wouldn't mis-behave too much...
