i just bought my EF fairmont 2 days ago. Beautiful car, but needs a little bit of work, new front bumper and 3 of the windows need repairing, (plus a new climate control unit)

I also noticed it didn't come with a "smart lock" keyless entry unit, just the standard key. I know i can re-program the remotes by pressing the demister button 3 times, but how can i get a new remote? would my local ford dealership stock them? and what would the average price be for 1 unit?

Some wagons have the boot release on the smart lock remote. Utes didn't.

I have aqquired a remote from my mate who has an EF fairmont as well. i had a bit of trouble getting it to reprogram for my car. had to press the rear demister switch (not the one on the climate control) 3 times and quickly turn the ignition to off. then it would work..
