My car fell victim to carpark damage last night and got wacked by a white 4x4. The Ford has been hit only on the boot fascia, but I'll need to have the boot lid straightened or replaced and need a new ED boot garnish with ABS writing on it.

Fortunately I have the details of the person who did it so they will be paying for it. I was just wondering what cost I'd be looking at and what the chances are of getting hold of the spare parts that are exactly the same as whats on there.

I want my car to be perfect!

Thanks for your replies. FYI: Total repairs is in excess of $1500

- New Bumper
- New Boot
- Plus parts and labour and paint.

(At least I get rid of that sap stain on the boot lid!)

ERm... edit that cost its actually $2513.45 quoted by my inssurance company!

I'd hate to see what a real smash would cost me, so much for having a cheap car to fix!

OMG, I brought my ED with a dent in the exact same place!.
Still havn't got it fixed yet but i will.
That's bs about needing a new bumper???.

The bumper is warped, it curves in where the Pajero hit it and sticks out on the left hand rear whel tip.

The boot lid is buckled and can't be straightened.

All parts are genuine Ford, For Eg.

- Boot Lid $446 + Paint
- Bumper $286 + Paint
- Garnish $226
- ABS decal $27!!
- Fairmont decal $27!!
- Ford badge the list goes on.

RACQ are paying for it all though hehehe - woohoo!

If your luck is as bad as mine, you'll be in for some fun.

When i had an accident in my EF and needed a new rear door, I ended up waiting through 4 door deliveries as everyone of them was warped, and didnt line up with the rest of the car.

Make sure you do a damn good inspection before you take the keys, because once you drive off, its your problem.

Will do mate, I am even going to take photos of the rear end to make sure everything is put pack right, including the little lip that runs around the bottom of the bumper!

i got original quotes of getting my EF bonnet and roof fixed for $1800 and i got another the other day and they only want $900, weird :D
