As some of you may have guessed i am currently looking at buying a 2nd hand BA XR. 90% of the ones i have looked at havnt had the fatter sports steering wheel option and i was wondering if this is a costly exercise to be done after if i hapen to buy one with the standard steering wheel.

Yeah it is kinda costly, they are about $750-$800. They are nice though and I'd like to find a better priced s/h option cause I think it's overpriced for what it is. You keep the airbag/middle part of your current wheel and the wheel around it changes. For $800 I'd think you'd get the whole lot again with the switches and everything.

Yeah, it can be done anytime. There will also be a slight charge to fit it unless you can get them to do it in the price, which they should I reckon.

started off as approx. $800 for grey/black ones and $1200 for coloured/black ones

now theyre $250 each NEW

Tell me about it!!!! I see the animated advert on top of the forums all the time and I'm spewin' at the price!!!! $250 for the BA sports steering wheel is about right and a no brainer, I'd get one!!!!
