Sppedo / Odo dead.... it was immediate... any help be nice - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey guys, I just got my truck tonight at work... On the way home... I was running a steady 70 and the odo was perfect.... Then... It died. Sudden.... The speedo droped to zero... and the Odo died same time. VSS or speedo head? Or is it something as simple as a fuse died for it?

I replaced the VSS today..... Nothing.... So I am assuming it's the head.

Weird thing is it worked fine this morning again for about 5 minutes. then died again.

It is weird... very intermettant.... irractic... but most of teh tiem it'
s dead... I'm goign to replace the cluster monday with one we have at work.. we;ve got 5 or six of these things in the yard.

I replaced the cluster..... works fine now

I just gotta fix lights in it now... The old cluster obviosuly had more then jsut the speedo dead... casue an immedaite check engien light came on.... diagnosed and fixed those problems.... and my SPEED CONT. light works now too ... :) but at night my gas gauge is dark hehe...
