Squeaks....'05 Escape, rear quarter interior - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

No noise at all over speed bumps or other problems, but I notice an odd occasional squeak from the right rear quarter, sometimes just on acceleration.

When I check it while it is parked, I can shake the car with the back lift open, and get nothing. Pounding on the interior side panels produces nothing. Shaking or moving the seats, nothing. Rear cargo panels, no noise. Jack equipment is tight, nothing loose, nothing moving in the vehicle.

Thought maybe the rubber seals around the lift gate were causing it, so I put some teflon spray on them, no change. An it happens with no warning, no special movement on the vehicle. Thought it was body roll/flex, but not sure.

Any thoughts?

We dug a bit deeper into the Escape, and I had a buddy ride along in the back.

Seems like the shock mount on the right rear side is where it's coming from. One panel with speaker and jack equipment back there, not quite sure how tough it is to move it all.

Again, just a rubbing noise from inside the panel, but it's driving me nuts.

Any hints on panel removal before I haul the beast to the dealer?
