Squealing fan belt

Hey everyone

Just got the EB falcon off my brother and it has a problem when it starts up. It just starts squeling under the hood. It keeps this up until you have been driving for 5mins. What is the solution to this? is this affecting vehicles performance/life?

Get it as tight as you can..Often the gears wearout that tightens these belts..Try a lever...

Re: Squealing fan belt

Buy a new one for $20 bucks. You can tighten it but it might wear the alternator bearing out. You can use Belt Grip or CRC but the salesman advised me not to use it and to just buy a new belt. They usually last about 1-3 years hence the warranty on them.
