Wondering what is the best way to replace the clip that has broken on the right side nearest to the front wheel as it is hanging down but i cant see how they work.

These clips always break, new ones cost about $5 from ford, u have to undo the bar and clip the clips into the bar, real confusing but it took me ages to get my bar sitting right.

If you live near a wreckers go there and undo one to practise and steal the clip that is broken on yours.
You slide the bumper bit into the clip from the wreckers then fit it into the triangle hole which will be in behind the bumper. Then you have to rotate the clip with the bumper bit still inside it so the triangles are at different angles and lock the bumper in place.
Once you have done one its fairly easy but fidgety. Mine fall off every few months as would most lowered XF's with owners that forget that their bumper is not higher than the curb.

Got a new clip today and are finding it VERY hard to pull it back by myself. Im thinking another MALE would help with this. Have you guys done it solo or with help?

I done mine solo, is it just to tight? I found 2 of them where heaps tight.

I do it by myself. Try To get the clip in the hole and push it hard as you can with one hand with help from your knee and twist the clip around with your other hand. Its pretty hard to twist, you might get a few scratches on your hands.

You'll get the hang of it, it's very tricky.

My bro just get's little bit's of wire and straps his XG's bumper up that way, looks standard, but doesn't come loose. Cheaper. I use clips though as I got a box full of them with the car when I bought it.

I fixed it with a clip of a series two front quarter i have. Ive got both front guards and luckly found only one clip.

Fixed for now.

Is it broken or bowed?

If it is bowed, a thin piece of sheet metal will do the job. You cut slots in it so you can bend it to the right shape and then you just tac it on. My bro did this on his XG and it looks normal.

As for broken... time to get a new one.
