Hi,
I've replaced the starter motor on dads EF, for a new one your looking at $220-250 depending on model for the part itself. Reco i would guess be cheaper depends if your planning to get autoelectricians to do fix it.
A friend of mine got his XF starter motor re-conditioned (a while back) at Hazelbrook Auto electrician for a decent price. Might be worth to pay a visit there.
