Starting problems

hey all

Ive got some weird problems in my car(EBll spack) sometimes it won't start it's like it's in drive or reverse. There's nothing when you turn the key.ive had the NRMA out twice to get it started the first guy said it was my starter motor the second one said i could be my inhabitor switch. So i drove it home to the first time and i was just gonna get the nrma out to get it started so i could drive it to the auto elec but it started. My car been up there for 2 days and they can't find any thing wrong with it any suggestions guys???

sorry for the longish post

Your smartlock module is the most likely cause of this problem. You can fix it yourself if you have some basic hand skills or look around for another one, new preferably otherwise you may get a crook one again if you go for second hand.

Damn, sorry about the problem!

Only cars after October 1992 have Smartlock, from what people have told me in the #eseries chatroom.

Not that I have any idea how it affects the car, but that may help you determine whether you have Smartlock or not...

If it is the starter motor, try rolling the car forward slightly and trying again. If that works, then its quite likely the starter motor...

Cheers...... Tim

OK. Remove the plastic surround that covers the handbrake handle and see if there is a smartlock module above there.
