G'day viewers
I'm about to replace the bearing on the lower part of the steeing column, where it goes thro' the firewall. The good book (manual) says to remove the steering wheel and clock spring. I'm a bit nervous about this clock spring thingy, and I was wondering if anybody had done this fix without removing the steering wheel.

I wonder if it's a circlip type? Some of those springs are hard to ut back together if they let go! I can't really help on this one P.S what model is it.

IOt's an EL, the book sez be careful when you mess with it cos it can be hard to put back together.

What I might do is go to a wreckers first and have a look at the situation, and have a go at pulling out the steering column.
