General TechHave a question that is not covered by one of the other categories? This is the forum for all other items not specifically covered in other categories.
I have a manual Falcon SR.
In the wet or dry if the wheels lose grip, they bounce rather than spin.
Someone told me this was axle tramp - is this normal or is there a way to get rid of this?
The car is basically new and before I take it back to Ford I was wondering if this is normal...
Does anyone else get this.
Thanks

I don't think they call that axle tramp on irs.More like wheel hop.Too much use of the throttle causes that! [As if you didn't know].A powerfull car cannot be driven flat out all the time, otherwise these things happen! I guess aftermarket shocks as in Koni or Bilstien,Or T series ??? May help...& tyres!

It's also a common irs and Mustang/Cobra problem with things like adjustable konis, quad shocks, harder bushings, revised springs, revised panhard rods and rear sway bar kits used to help reduce it.
Whiteline or Pedders may have a kit fit but if you going to run in the traffic light drags rather than corner fast you should have opted for the rigid axle.
Since your car is a Falcon SR i'm assuming it has the Watts Linkage rear suspension, generally they don't axle tramp. I think it's a tyres issue, i'd try a full wheel balance then get a set of decent tyres, the OEM ones are pretty ordinary.

Shouldnt of bought an SR, nothing compared to mine. My AU Falcon is how the falcon should have been in the first place.
Idiots at Ford stuffed it up. Put the wrong wheels and tyres on it, rear end design makes it necessary to fit rear spoiler and ride height about an inch too high
Go to new showroom and type aurora in user search and you'll see mine.
As for tyres i recommend Yokohama A539/A510/AVS Sport
Pedders Suspension
