ok well ive got about a 1/4 of a tank left of petrol, and when i went to fill my mk3 fiesta up i couldnt remove the petrol cap
the key goes in turns 1/4 to the right and thats when it normally comes out but when i try to pull it out it pulls out about 5mm at the most, - like its got some serious suction behind it,

any ideas,

or how do i just get the thing out so i can replace it witha new one,.

help asap - need petrol!

Can you turn the cap with the key still inserted?

its just the key that turns the petrol cap stays put (dosnt turn)

have you tried spraying some lube ( silicon spray, wd40, crc ,etc ) in the key hole.
maybe the key/lock is jamming and not releasing the catch properly.
