howdy all.

just a quikie, has anyone or is this a bad idea.

put a 10" sub into the parcel shelf in an eb fairmont.

basicly i was looking at getting response 10" sub and amp and mounting it up in the parcel shelf. i know it is going to be hard to seal the area but i am confident that i can, but i wanted to know if anyone has done such a mod or has an opinion

There'll be alot of vibration, plus, you should cut your parcel shelf for ANY reason.. But as long as the parcel shelf will stay in tact, give it a go.. You can test it out, although i wouldn't do it personally..

You're not a fan of getting a Box?

IMO, not worth the hassle.

build a small box to sit behind the seat, better bass and less vibrations!

A small box to suit a 10" sub to mount behind the 30% side of the rear seat won't use alot of space.
there is no point mounting it in the shelf other than to save space, the bass will be minimal....

i have a 8" venom (jaycar) sub mounted in my self, and its fairly good. its a dual magnet sub.. the only problem i had was that originally i used long skinny bolts so i didnt have to drill, but they sucked, so i got 1/4" bolts and drilled holes for them. now its sweet. its not going to shatter windows and ear drums as i pass, but, its suprisingly good for not having a box.
