hi ppls, i've recently purchased a ba xr6 and would like to get some opinions and suggestion for more grunt and power to the car. be looking at around $2500. any opinions would be great!

turbo or n/a???

if its n/a a good 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust and a set of good extractors (try herrods). add a a boss 260/gt airbox. and a chip re-tune will get you a good hit of spare neddies. next would be to get the head of and do some porting and a re-grind of the cams (tho i am un-sure if anyone is doing this yet -but if you care to donate ur head to the good of sceince i'll do it for you).

easiest option will be to supercharge. or a nos shot to it all.

if its a xr6t 1st would be to put a good 4 inch dump pipe going down into a 3 or 3.5 inch cat with a full 3 or 3.5 inch exhaust, add a boss 260/gt airbox with a high flow filter element then a call to aps and get one of their uni-chips onto the beast (i'd dare say you would get 315fwkw pretty easily).

3 - 3.5 inch exhaust is excessive, even for a turbo car. I would recommend 2.5 - 2.75 inch exhaust for a street car.

for a turbo 4 litre engine? i dont think so!! 3" minimum for a XR6T!

thchoo - where do you live? if its near brisbane you could try redcliffe dyno - they have a XR6T with stock turbo and 15psi boost making 447hp at the wheels...

unichip do a chip for the XR6T, gives it about 2 more psi through the rev range, and i think that equates to about another 40kW at the engine.
