Temperature gauge range

I got an EA GL (temp gauage reads normal from top down - N is near hot and L is near cold).

It sits around the O and R letters (which I think is a bit hot) and I was wondering what that means in degrees celcius. Does anyone know the range of the temp gauge?

Dan..

Re: Temperature gauge range

Range 42 -130 dC with a mid gauge indication of 75 dC. Warning lamp illuminates at 118. Of course, if the gauge is accurate, I'll eat my hat.

cheers

Re: Temperature gauge range

My hat is safe. My gauge only ever gets to half way stuck in traffic on a stinkin hot day.

Re: Temperature gauge range

A bit hot but not too bad. Try cleaning between the radiators?

Re: Temperature gauge range

run a wire direct from the temp sender to the back of your dash... mine use to do that but i found the was a short in the wire and when i turned left it would get hotter.. and i replaced everything (cost me $1500 including Labour) and it was a 10$ wire which you can do yourself.. this may not be the answer to your problem but it is now the first thing i check on all cars if they are not boiling
