is there a difference au 1 map & au2 map sensor?

having problem with high fuel consumptin 200-280 from a full tank of preuimn unleaded, when i went to FORD they said that the series 1 and series 2 map sensor was totally different i was thinking may be they up graded for a better unit,i had asked the part guy about the difference and said"i don't known i just sell the parts i don't make them"o.k.
Not going back there again.
