Throttle problem

Ive got an EA CFI with LPG and of late ive noticed a problem whilst driving.

If i say put the car in drive and let go of the break, teh car will creep notmaly up to arround 5-7kmh, then there is a noticable acceleration and the car can creep upto 50kmh with no throttle input.

The car will cruise at 65kmh with almost 0throttle for ever.

Also when slowing from speed the engine seems to still be powering and a fair ammount of break force is required to completly stop the car. and unless i put the car into neutral the car will continue to want to push forward unless stoped for 5sec, in which case the car returns to normal idle.

Any ideas!!???

Ive been described as a vault of usless random knowledge.

Ill take it as a complement i think.............

if the car is left in neutral the car will idle perfectly arround 800rpm. just that when its put into drive and allowed to creep once above 5/7kmh it will beging to accelerate on its own........wierd!

hmm is it a 4sp? If it's a 4 sp the trans computer may be pushing the idle to high in drive.
That's all I can think it would be.
Try and diagnose the computer with a test lamp and a wire see if any codes pop up.

yes it is a 4 speed. But the idle doesnt instantly go up when its put into drive. if the car is put into drive and left to sit at idle, the revs wont rise.

Its got me beat. KOEO and KOEO tests didnt pull up any codes

hmmm still think it's the gearbox computer of maybe the second TPS for the box that is the problem.
May have to take it to a mech unfortunatly.

Wouldn't think it was the idle speed as its idling OK out of gear.
In gear is of course a different idle setting, me agrees with carazy - something to do with one of your computers.

Try swapping them with somebody else who has a 4speed CFI - at least if it doesn't work you know they're OK!

Hard to think of anything else - IMO must be the box computer, don't understand how it could be affecting the car that way tho.
