ok when I put my EA in self test mode to set the timing I get a slightly erratic reading ocassionally. I will set it to 10 degrees BTDC, if I hold the trigger of the timing light on, the mark will be perfect, but then it will jump about 5-6 degrees either side of the mark ( advance/retard ) then go back to where it is supposed to be, then will eventually jump again. I am thinking it could be the ECU or distributor, or even a slight misfire but wanted to know what you guys thought...The ECU and Distributor will be changed when I do my MPFI conversion, but in case it could be something else I would like to rectify the problem.
