How hard is it to remove a tow bar ?

its on my NF fairlane.

I do use it some times, but not for months on end. should i just leave it on there?

the answer is it all depends on what is on there. Assuming it was fitted with the genuie ford 1200/1600 kg towbar, it is only a simply matter of using a socket set to remove the tounge which is held by two bolts (less than five minutes work). Once remove you want hit your leg on the tounge but the rest of the bar stays on the car.

If your car had the 2100 heavy duty tow bar (square shape tounge housing) these come with a removable tounge just release the locking pin, slide out the pin and remove the tounge.

If its an aftermarket one you will have to look at it and see if it has a removable tounge.

cheers

Craig
