Transmission Coolers

Just wondering if any AU owners here run a tranny cooler for their autos. I'm looking at getting one fitted to my XR. I'm just wondering what the setup would look like, costs involved and where the installation was done?

I'll be getting one early next year Jimmy. Approx cost is $100-$130 plus fitting.

Re: Transmission Coolers

I got my local mechanic/friend to do mine. He got a heavy duty one, and mine is mounted in the middle, in front of the radiator, up the top. He used metal pipes, so it was a fairly decent/pro install, and the unit can hold up to 1.5 or 3L i can't remember what he said now.

Unit cost me $150ish, and the fitting was charged in the labour for my service.

Re: Transmission Coolers

I did all 3 of mine (the XR6, the wagon and the XR8). Easy as! Cost around $120ish plus around 1 hour's labour (in my case, the labour was my own).
