Trip computer display

Does anyone else have a problem with their trip computer missing some LCD segments? Has anyone bothered to fix them? Or does anyone know how to fix them? I know on eBay there are kits for the AU climate control etc, but apparently you have to send the module away to get repaired and I couldn't be bothered doing that!
