Lightbulb Turbo 6 or a 8

I've heard of turbo I6 EA's but has anyone tried recently doing it to their EB-AU? It would be so easy to mount the turbo on a custom manifold and just pipe it over the head into the throttle body on a EF-AU with low boost ( ie 6-7psi) so no intercooler is needed.

Cost wise:
custom manifold $600-800
recon turbo $1000
unichip for extra fuel and timing $1100
labor or diy and misc parts $500-1000

how much power would you think you can achieve without cracking open the engine?

And on a V8, do you think it would work by just putting a single turbo on one side or do you have to do both exhaust sides?

What do you think??

I was running a vortech series 1 14psi (28psi) on a seriously modified 91 EB Ghia

Though, you would not even consider doing that to a standard block for any model upto 1998 due to the fact of the crappy water coolant used in the cars

Apparently the Red Crap caused 90% of engine failures!

I guess the way to go is to buy another engine[6] for all the prototype work then swap it over.Or build another from ground up with rebuilt second hand mill.. Spark control is the big thing to control on a forced induction mill.Detonation=bang!!!!enrichment too..
