Tyre Width

Ok people what comments do you have on suitable tyre width for 8 and 8.5 inch rims. I currently run 255x35x18 front and 265x30x18 on the rear. These keep the car sticking to the road like glue and I can't remember the last time it got thrown of course. The car is factory height and the tyres have never hit the bodywork but I am considering going down to 245 front and 255 rears.

For 8" wheels I rekon 235 is ideal with the short sidewall height you are running & 245 for 8.5" wheel. Any wider and you will distort the sidewalls too much (distortion during cornering) and make the cars handling worse.
