Is this unit an ABS Unit?

Hey Guys,

Trying to determine if my car has ABS or not...

On my ED Futura there is a unit which sits behind the bumper bar on the passenger side, just behind and beneath the headlight...it has BENDIX written on it...is that anything to do with ABS?

The reason im trying to find out is that ive been told ED Futura Classics come with ABS as standard...that and ive removed my instrument cluster for repair and can see the bulb and bulb holder behind the ABS warning light is missing.

Cheers for any help

Re: Is this unit an ABS Unit?

I'm not sure where abouts they have it on the ED. But it should be a fair size unit. And there should be 4 pipes running off it, for all 4 wheels.

ABS was standard on all futura classics by the way.

Thanks for the help LG...

Looks like the ABS was playing up..hence the light has been removed

Ill have to get a bulb and holder for it and see the error code if it flashes.

Removing the globe will disable the ABS, mine was playing up so i did this.
Go's better without it.

Re: Is this unit an ABS Unit?

ABS is overrated :p .. nothing like a big blue cloud coming from the front tyres :p ... jk

when i had my old ED Futura Classic, the ABS has been removed as it gave too much of a headache, and even got it managed to lock in during normal braking procedures

Re: Is this unit an ABS Unit?

I think ill leave it alone by the sounds of things...too complex to repair..i assume the bulb was removed to disable the system...so ill leave it at that.

Ive never needed an ABS enabled car...so why should things change!
