hello all

this one is alittle strange.

basicly under 1/4 throttle there is a noise coming from the front of the engine...basicly it sounds like a loud ticking sound. It will do this in everytime (uphill, downhill, even in netural) it isn't the gear box and it isn't the little bleeder valve that sitts near the airbox that lets fuel fumes back into the car.

what i do think it is, is the belts. when the car is sitting idleing the front part where all the belts are driven from (end of the crank, god helps me i can't think of its name ) shakes, but under throttle (where my prob is) it straightens out. could that be making my noise?

Are you saying that the crank pulley shakes when idling? define shakes as that doesnt sound too good, id be checking to make sure the bolt is nice and tight if i were you

well it wobbles. it doesn't spin straight till it is under load and more than 1/2 throttle

It may be an illusion due to marks on the pulley or something, but check that the crank bolt is nice and tight, mine wasnt and it ended up chewing out the crank woodruff key. Mine had a loud ticking which I guess was the crank sprocket banging against the woodruff key on the stroke of each piston!
