Re: V8 into XF

you might find a clevo a lot easier. if you want a windsor then start choppin away your firewall. theres heaps of threads on this...do a search.

Re: V8 into XF

Um, I actually thought the Windsor would be easier to fit as the motor is physically smaller than the Cleveland. The main problem is the heater box - the pipes exit the firewall behind the LH head. They can be rerouted with a bit of effort though!

Re: V8 into XF

from my understanding from reading many threads about this i was under the impression that the clevo is a 'drop in' and the windsor would be a chop job.

Re: V8 into XF

You dont have to chop either. The clevo is way bigger than the windsor. The winsdor is an easier fit but wiring might be difficult.
With the clevo, you will need to do something clever with the heater pipes as they hit the engine and melt where they exit the firewall. Putting a 90degree bend on both pipes would fix it.
I put a cleveland into my XF around 6 months ago.
