i just converted my ea to a 5speed, no i notice when i shift into 3rd ther is not enought 'grunt', 1st and 2nd are fine. now i think it has to do with the wade gas/tow cam i have in my car becasue i got that to give me some lower end torque when i had the auto,
now ive read that a few of the ppl in this fourum have wade cams installed. which one do you reccomend and how much???

its not the speed it reaches its just like 1st and 2nd have all this power and 3rd just dosent have 'oomph' could it be that the engine just dont have the power, its stok engine with zorst, extractors and clutch fan removed

thanks for the replies guys but i found the prob:
i was going to put the orig. cam back in when i noticed that when the harmonic balancer was in dead centre, the cam gear wasnt, must of been when the previuous owner changed the chain, i moved it to the next tooth, now all of a sudden it starts at a turn of a key, wants to rev more, better on fuel sounds better and a TON more power in 3RD
