Wal-Mart causing problems??

My wife took her 1993 Taurus Station Wagon to Wal-Mart to have the oil changed in August and then again November. After taking the vehicle home, the car wouldn't start both times the same day of the oil change. The car was towed to our mecahnic and the first time the mechanic replaced a dead starter. It's in the shop again and the mechanic said the starter is dead again.

Why would the starter die after having an oil change?
